In the Pool:

- There are risks for electrical shocks in and around the pool. Take proper precautions. Check for sparks coming from electrical equipment and keep a fiberglass Shepherd’s crook/rescue hook in case you need to safely remove electrocuted persons from the pool without shocking yourself.
- Get swimming lessons for children and CPR lessons for supervising adults.
- Make sure that pool drains are equipped with anti-entrapment drain covers.

- Outdoor summer heat is strongest between 10am-4pm. Limit your sun exposure during these times.
- Apply sunscreen of at least 15 SPF, 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every 2 hours, after swimming, or when vigorously sweating.
- Small appliances such as toasters, curling irons, blenders, etc. should be unplugged before leaving to prevent fire hazards and to save energy.

- Keep grills at least 10 feet from other objects, including the house and bushes.
- Never grill/barbecue in enclosed areas - carbon monoxide could be produced.
- Supervise children when using fireworks. Even sparklers can reach 2000 degrees!
